Filling Date:Feb 27, 1997
Issue Date:Sep 8, 1998
Inventors:Muhammed Majeed, Viadimir Badmaey, R. Rajendran
Assignee:Sabinsa Corporation

Abstract:
Current trend in management of obesity focuses on maintaining a healthy weight for overall well being. Obesity is a result of chronic imbalance between energy intake and energy expenditure, while a balance of energy helps you stay at a healthy weight for the long time. Supplements that contain research-backed ingredients for maintaining healthy weight are in great demand.

Forskolin from Coleus forskohlii a cyclic AMP activator, is scientifically proven to boost energy expenditure which helps in energy balance and maintain healthy weight. As per the recent patent awarded to Sabinsa Corporation, Forskolin helps in converting the stubborn white fat tissue to a metabolically active brown fat which helps burning extra calories and maintain a lean body mass.

A method of achieving optimal mammalian energy balance using forskolin on a particular physiological and development stage of the mammalian cellular system is disclosed.
